Scott Loomer - USA - January 2012

Itinerary: Buenos Aires City Tour Full Day
Guide: Natalia

One of the challenges for those who like to travel is finding high quality local tours in an unfamiliar city. Sometimes you are fortunate to get recommendations from friends, but sometimes, like us on our first visit to Buenos Aires, you are on your own to research the options. When we looked at the many tour operators providing personal guide services, we were impressed by Maximo's web site. While a good web site doesn't guarantee good service, a bad web site often indicates an unprofessional operation. Comments from satisfied customers on some of the review sites also suggested that Maximo would provide the quality and service we were looking for. Finally, Maximo replied very promptly to my query with detailed and precise information about the arrangements he could offer.

We asked Maximo to arrange three services:
1) Transfer from the international airport to our hotel. Our driver was waiting for us right outside customs and immigration and gave us a cheerful and informative ride into town which is much appreciated after an overnight flight. This was more than just a transfer...it was a mini-tour explaining much of the city as we drove into town.
2) Tango dinner and show package. While the individual shows can be booked directly, it was very helpful to have Maximo make the arrangements so we only had to deal with a single point of contact.
3) Most importantly, we asked Maximo to arrange a full-day tour of Buenos Aires. Our guide was Natalia who was the perfect person to introduce us to Buenos Aires on our first visit. She is a charming, knowledgeable person who ensured we got a feeling for the geography and culture of Buenos Aires. She was also very willing to modify the itinerary to suit our particular interests. We also got excellent support from our driver, Alejandro.

Conveniently (for Americans, at least), Maximo quotes and accepts payment for his company's services in US currency or by PayPal. No deposit was necessary which provides an additional level of reassurance when you are making arrangements remotely with someone you haven't dealt with before. Note that the tango shows are paid directly to the venue.

So, in summary, we heartily recommend Maximo's services if you are looking for quality tour arrangements in Buenos Aires. We hope this testimonial aids you in planning your visit to Buenos Aires.

I hired BA Tour Guide for a tour of Buenos Aires. We were in town for a one day visit from our cruise ship. Our guide and driver were on time and waiting for us when we docked. Our guide Victoria was outstanding. She was knowledgeable, interesting and had an excellent command of English. She gave us an amazing tour of the city which included both walking and driving. Victoria even recommended a store that sold some of the best ice cream we have ever tasted. I would recommend booking with you and would be happy to personally recommend your company to others.

Maximo: Thank you, Thank you! The tour with Victoria and the driver far exceeded our expectations! Victoria has an excellent knowledge of her City as well as the ability to present her information without being dry or making it feel like a history lesson. She relates and reacts to her visitors to a point where you felt more like friends. The driver and the car were a most pleasant surprise. We were prepared for more walking, but this was a great arrangement! Once more: Thank you, thank Victoria, and thank the driver.

It was a pleasure working with Maximo creating our tours. Our email conversations were timely and he was very helpful in creating fabulous tours for my husband and I during our visit to Buenos Aires. Ilan our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and a delight. Ilan didn't just give us "the facts", he created stories and brought history to life. We felt like we were with a member of our family.

I used to live in Argentina many years ago and this was my second trip in the last three years. My wife and I wanted to take our adult children on the latest trip to show them Argentina. I can't think of a better and safer way to see all of the highlights in and around Buenos Aires. We went on three tours...all spectacular. We enjoyed the private tours and the ability to customize your times and agenda. I highly recommend.

Maximo Yedid runs a very professional tour guide service. We had a large party of 45 who wanted to see aspects of jewish interest and life in Buenos Aires. The tours were organized into 2 separate groups on two different days and at very short notice (a few days). The guides were superb, warm and friendly. They knew their history and a grasp of the details. The mini buses were comfortable and the drivers polite. The cost per person was reasonable and good value for money.

I will have no hesitation recommending Maximo Yedid's company to my friends and indeed will probably use his services for a different tour when visiting Buenos Aires in the future.

My wife and I spent a day and a half with Maximo and his wonderful driver, Jo. Maximo was very punctual, courteous, thoughtful and knowledgeable. We feel we gained an excellent insight into Buenos Aires given the limited time we had available. We did not feel rushed, but saw a lot. We have used private guides in a number of cities around the world and Maximo is certainly among the best we have encountered.

It truly made our night to enjoy something different. Thank you again!

Maximo made our short visit to Buenos Aires worth it. In four hours, we had the time to discover what Buenos Aires has to offer. It is such a diversified city with each neighborhood very distinctive. From Palermo to La Boca, it was a lovely afternoon, full of the history of this magnificent city. Having a driver made our visit much easier as we didn’t have to bother about the traffic and parking. But the most important, Maximo made us seen places we wouldn’t have find on our own. Thank you also for the booking at the tango show, we had the best table and were able to take very good pictures. If I come back in Buenos Aires, I will definitively contact you again.

Irma met us as planned at the ferry terminal in Colonia del Sacramento. Immediately, I knew I was going to like Irma. She was a very pleasant and gracious lady. She gave us a wonderful tour of the old town and shared her knowledge of the history of the area. Irma has an obvious love for Colonia del Sacramento and her native country of Uruguay. She pointed out areas to eat and some places to shop and took us to the pier on the river. We spent the rest of the day in Colonia, a very restful place, in contrast to the frenetic pace in Buenos Aires. A really enjoyable day.

We have been taking groups to Latin America since the mid-eighties to do humanitarian dental and medical projects. Most recently our efforts have been working with Rotary Clubs on water projects in Bolivia. At times we will visit another country before or after our stay in Bolivia to learn more about the country and culture. In March 2011 we visited Buenos Aires. This was the first time that we had ever just hired a private guide to manage our entire stay. After researching guides online we decided to hire Maximo. He handled all arrangements for us except for our hotel reservations (I am sure he could have done that also).
Maximo is one of the best guides that we have ever hired. He was easy to communicate with, paid attention to all details, understood the needs of North Americans, spoke fluent English, delivered more then we expected, was honest, and lastly very reasonable. We had a personal and customized agenda for our small group of 12 people and paid less than being in a typical tourist group managed by a travel agency. We saw the best of Buenos Aires in our four-day stay. His recommendation for an optional Tango show was excellent and our group had a great time.
I would recommend anyone visiting Buenos Aires to hire Maximo.

We still have very fond memories of our tour with you in Buenos Aires. Many thanks for making it such a memorable tour. On our half-day tour we saw so much that it was amazing. Famous monuments, buildings, expansive streets, colorful neighborhoods like La Boca, antique shops, markets, football stadium, and a visit to de la Recoleta cemetery to see Evita's gravesite were highlights of our tour. We would certainly recommend Maximo to anyone who wants to see B.A. and perhaps only has a short time to do so. Maximo was very knowledgeable, efficient, and interesting and we felt safe travelling with him and his driver. It was excellent value for the money and he even dropped us off at the end of the tour at an excellent restaurant where we had a meal of famous Argentine beef. Thank you Maximo for an outstanding tour.

We wish you continued success. It was great to have you as our personal tour guide in Buenos Aires.

I am always curious about Jewish life around the world and Maximo Yedid took me on a delightful tour of Jewish Buenos Aires.
He picked me up by private car at my hotel. While making our way to the Jewish quarter, Maximo filled me in on the history of Jews in Argentina and South America. We then walked the busy streets, stopping at a kosher deli, a kosher butcher and a lovely Judaica store. Then followed visits to beautiful Sephardic and Ashkenazi synagogues.
We finished up at the main square of Buenos Aires, viewed the historic old synagogue and, finally, a little-known treasure-- a touching Jewish remembrance at the main Catholic cathedral.
The tour was personal and low-keyed .
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Shalom

Several months ago, my wife and I travelled to Buenos Aires a few days early before joining our Road Scholar trip. We were interested in learning about Jewish life in Argentina and fortunately found Mr. Maximo Yedid's web site. I contacted him by email a few weeks before leaving the States and asked whether he would be our guide. I specifically wanted someone who had grown up in a Jewish environment. So we began an email correspondence that told me right away that Maximo is the right person. He met us at our hotel and took us to several synagogues including the one where his own Bar Mitzvah was held. We also visited the memorial sites where the Israeli embassy and the administration building for the Jewish community were blown us. There was also a little shop for a Kosher nosh. As important for us to see the sites, we asked Maximo many questions about the history of Jews in his country and about the future prospects for Argentinian Jewish life. There was hardly a question that he could not answer. His fund of knowledge is extremely broad. On our second day with him, we went to the river's delta during which time we discussed more general historical, economic, and cultural issues. He is a very engaging and warm person who was quite willing to share matters of his own family and school life with us.
We were sad to say good bye and told him that we generally hope to have him visit us in California in the future. I would give him my highest recommendation

Whenever we travel abroad we like to visit places of Jewish interest and found a tour that seemed to meet our needs on the internet. The site was very professional and booking was straightforward. Max, together with his driver, met us as planned at our hotel and took us around the major Jewish sites of Buenos Aires. We managed to see a large number of places within the allotted time in a comfortable unhurried way. Max was a very knowledgable guide with excellent English and his driver was very safe. Max had a pleasant and courteous manner and made the day most interesting for us.We have no hesitation in recommending his tours to others and if we return to Buenos Aires we shall certainly book one of his other tours.

Maximo and his staff are superb, experienced guides who combine great knowledge with flexibility in arranging optimum tours of Buenos Aires and environs. They cater to individual requests and do their utmost to make the private tour a rewarding experience for all concerned. The air conditioned vans were very comfortable and the drivers were excellent. While we had a wonderful time in South America and on our cruise, the time spent with Maximo and staff in Buenos Aires was by far the most memorable. We do not hesitate to recommend them very highly and would certainly use them again if the occasion arose. You cannot go wrong by hiring Maximo Yedid and staff for your Buenos Aires experience.

Our tour of Jewish Buenos Aires was varied and informative. Maximo introduced us to the religious side of the city as well as its Jewish history. Using a driver, he was able to give us his full attention while also avoiding parking problems in busy sections of the city. In addition to getting an overview of Buenos Aires, Maximo took us on a ten block walking tour, which made us aware of the Jewish influence on shops and neighborhoods.
Maximo speaks English fluently and willingly shares aspects of his life growing up in Buenos Aires. Our only regret is that we did not have the opportunity to see him tango.

You provided very interesting and informative background information related to the Jewish history and population in Buenos Aires. We would highly recommend your tour to anyone interested in gaining a perspective of how Judaism is surviving in Buenos Aires today.

In surfing the web for tours of Buenos Aires, I ran across Maximo's site and was impressed with his organizational skills. He and I had a number of communications via email, and each one was articulately done. The first day in BA we took the overall tour of the city. There were six of us, and I thought Maximo did an excellent job. Unfortunately, the other two couples travelling with my husband and myself were not into doing private tours, and seemed more interested in getting back to the ship for lunch than our tour. This was no reflection on Maximo or the tour that he arranged. I learned a lot about travelling with others at this point, and am glad to say that the second day was strictly with my husband and myself. Maximo's colleague for the second day was equally as accommodating and we enjoyed our day in the countryside out of the hustle and bustle of BA. I would definitely recommend his tours, and if I am able to get back to BA in the next couple of years, I will definitely look Maximo up and have him arrange accommodations and tours.

He is very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions and was flexible to spend the amount of time needed at the various sites. We had the distinct pleasure of touring BA with Victoria as arranged through your office and we wanted to give you some feedback on our wonderful experience.
Victoria was able to balance our interests and time constraints with a comprehensive, well planned, efficient and yet spontaneous emersion into BA. She was careful to listen to our wishes and incorporate them into the tour plan. As we learned more about the city Victoria was nimble enough to incorporate new items into the itinerary. Victoria was a constant flood of information regarding the history of the city, politics, people, food, parks, and monuments. She was able to weave these elements into a pleasant dialogue that was easy to adsorb and appreciate. She efficiently worked with our driver to balance the number of van stops with our desire to see as much as possible. We also enjoyed her bright disposition and sheer joy as she showed us her city and tried to make it ours.
We would like to thank you for putting us in contact with Victoria when you were not able to personally guide us. Every minute we felt as if we were in excellent hands.

My daughter is spending a semester abroad in Buenos Aires, and we went down a few days early to get to learn a bit about the city before she embarked on her own program. We met friends of friends, and did a lot. A highlight was the informative and pleasant afternoon we spent with Victoria on the Jewish Buenos Aires tour. Victoria is completely fluent in English, and is highly knowledgeable about the entire Jewish community in Buenos Aires. We visited shops, two very different synagogues (including one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen in any country), and historical sites, and learned a great deal about the history, travails and vibrancy of today’s Jewish community. Everyone we met was most welcoming. What made the afternoon so special was Victoria’s own attachment to the neighborhoods, and her wonderful rapport with so many of the people we met. With her car and driver always at the ready, we were able to cover a lot of ground in just four hours. She is so affable, caring and articulate, we were sorry when our time was up. I highly recommend Victoria to anyone interested in exploring Jewish Buenos Aires.

My second visit to Buenos Aires was enhanced by two wonderful days of private touring. One day was spent with Maximo, and the other with Victoria. Both guides offer numerous itineraries. I chose to do the Jewish Heritage Tour with Maximo, and to visit other places and neighborhoods of interest in Buenos Aires with Victoria. Both guides know the city extremely well, and planned the days I spent with them according to my interests and preferences.

Because I had been to Buenos Aires once before, three years ago, I wanted to be sure that I made the best possible use of my time there. I wanted to become more familiar with the city and to see new sights. I did not want to duplicate visits to places I had been to a few years earlier. Both of the days of touring with Maximo and Victoria were filled with interesting visits to places I might never have seen if not for my excellent tour guides. Maximo and Victoria showed me their wonderful city, which I love! I know Buenos Aires so much better as a result of the tours I had!

In January 2011 during our cruise me made a 2 day stop in BA und through internet research we booked Maximo for 2 tours, first the Gaucho-Tour with 9 other cruise guests. The Tour was really enjoyable seeing the countryside of Argentina with a fantastic BBQ during the lunchtime, before we were visiting a half half museum and silverfactory. Very relaxed atmosphere. The second day we made the City-Tour with him as well. A great pleasure. I believe we have seen more or less everything in the City we must see as first time visitors. The Obelisk, President-Building, Cafe Tortoni, La Boca Football Stadium, caminito, Evita's grave at Recoleta and Palermo. During lunchtime Maximo made a very good choice with visiting a Steakhouse at Puerto Madero.
Maximo, I was a great pleasure having you booked for our Tours in BA. We always will remember the Tours with you very well.
We wish you all the best for your next season and good health.

My husband and I found Maximo to be a delightful young man who was an excellent guide with flawless english, a good command of both the history and area sites pertaining to the Jewish Community of Buenos Aires. He was trustworthy and dependable and he made excellent use of the time we had together. We would highly recommend him as a tour guide.

7 of us went to Buenos Aires for the first time and hired Maximo for 3 days to show us the city. We saw everything we wanted to see and really enjoyed the experience. Maximo is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and would recommend him and his crew to anyone. He also provided transportation from the airport and back. Hope to do tours with him again. Thank you Maximo and Ilan!!

Maximo, thanks for guiding us through Buenos Aires this past January. You are an extraordinary resource for curious and interested travellers...at once warm and hospitable, conversant, fluent in English, flexible and responsive to individual interests, and of course very knowledgeable and trustworthy. We look forward to returning to Argentina one day and to sharing the experience with you once again.

We were stopping off in Buenos Aires on our way to Ushuaia and the Antarctic. We were "on our own" in Buenos Aires and wanted to take a city tour. On line we found the BA Tour Guide site and it sounded perfect. We were not disappointed - we had an excellent English speaking tour guide "Natalia" and a driver that always appeared at just the right time and place. We saw all of the highlights of Buenos Aires in a leisurely manner and we didn't have to cope with a bus load. I would highly recommend this tour if you're interested in a first class experience.

Dear Maximo: Now that I’m back from my vacation and Argentina, I wanted to thank you for having recommended Victoria to me and my family for our half-day tour in BA. We truly enjoyed her tour. It was very informative and she was very attentive to our priorities and likes. We got to see everything we set out to. She was an excellent fit for my family and you couldn’t have done better for us Maximo!

I checked the internet for tour guides in Buenos Aires for a trip in January 2011. I contacted a few and was impressed with the promptness of responses from Maxim and the tours offered. For the day of our arrival we arranged for him to pick us up at the airport early in the morning , to provide a half day of sightseeing and then drop us off at our cruise ship. All this went very smoothly with the sightseeing covering things not on his regular tour. This was important since the next day we were with another couple and we booked the half day Buenos Aires tour and the Jewish tour he offered. However, Maximo was already booked for that day so he arranged for his associate, Victoria, to act as our guide. This was done prior to our arriving in Buenos Aires, so it was not a suprise. She was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. At the end of the day she returned us to the ship. We had an enjoyable two day stay and were impressed with the interaction we had with Maximo via Email, the knowledge of both guides and the fair prices charged.

Maximo provided our family of 5 with a comfortable vehicle, good driver and excellent guided tours of Buenos Aires and the Tigre Delta. Maximo speaks flawless English, is polite, helpful and extremely interested in satisfying his clients. I would highly recommend Maximo to anyone interested in learning more than the basics about BA's beautiful sites.

Maximo, thank you so much for your wonderful service. You helped make our visit to BA so special. Patricia and I not only loved your beautiful city, but we enjoyed the gaucho tour in the countryside so much. I hope our friends someday have the chance to visit as we did. If they do, we will certainly recommend your services. Thanks again.

Thank you for a wonderful and full tour of BA and the Jewish areas of the city. When it came time to decide what else we wanted to see beyond your tour, we realized that the museums were the only places we had not spent time seeing and walking.
Having a driver, Jose, made it very easy to jump out when we wanted to and see what we wanted to see.
Thank you for making our stay in BA exceptional.

Hi Maximo: It is hard to believe that we were with you just 2 weeks ago. It still feels like we should be waking in the morning to go touring.
THANK YOU so much for your good tours, good explanations and all of your help while we were there. We are having a great time telling friends about our adventures. The next thing we need to do is learn how to computer share our delightful photos with our kids and grandkids.
Should you ever come our way, we expect to hear from you. (We should have the same email address for years to come.) You are always welcome in Aberdeen, South Dakota!!!!
Wishing you and your family well and a happy Chanukah!!!

Max provided our family with a Jewish tour of Buenos Aires. We spent an enjoyable, albeit somewhat sad, morning learning about Jewish life in Buenos Aires. It was sad to see the results of attacks on Jewish centers in BA and the decimation of a strong Jewish presence in BA. Nonetheless, Max was knowledgable, interesing, and well organized. I would recommend him highly.

We worked with Maximo Yedid (and his great driver Joe) during our recent trip to BA in July. I found Maximo on the web. He was the first one I contacted and I liked him right away so I didn't need to look further. He wrote back promptly, gave me all the necessary info we needed, and he was able to schedule a private tour for the exact day I requested. I had been to BA twice before, but it was my husband's first trip. Maximo therefore did a great job of tailoring his tour to our requests. I got to experience new sites, my husband saw most of the traditional sites, and I was treated to new explanations about things I'd seen before. He showed up on time, combined a Jewish tour and a general tour, and was very knowledgeable as well as personable. We were even serenaded in the car with beautiful Spanish singing by Joe! There was one fact we were confused about and I was impressed when a few days later, even though I had forgotten all about it, Maximo e-mailed me the correct information after looking it up (and he had been right, of course). We also learned that he is an accomplished tango dancer. All in all, I recommend him highly.
Thanks again, Maximo!

We found Maximo through his website, and found it very easy to work with him to set up tours prior to our arrival in Buenos Aires. We booked a city tour for our group, and also some private tours for just the two of us to see some of the outlying areas. The Gaucho Tour and Tigre Tour were both very enjoyable. In all cases, we found Maximo to be very professional and knowledgeable. He was always willing to be flexible to meet our needs and accommodate our wishes. His drivers were all excellent and very professional. We also thoroughly enjoyed the tango show he booked for us at Esquina Carlos Guardel. We would highly recommend Maximo's services when you visit Buenos Aires.

Because of scheduling conflicts, Maximo provided another tour guide, Victoria, for our 1/2 day tour of Jewish Buenos Aires. Her English was impeccable, as was her knowledge of the Jewish community. The driver shuttled us from place to place, and picked us up when we had completed our visit to a particular area or facility. We saw two synagogues, visited the museum inside one of them, visited the site of the former Israeli Embassy, saw the AMIA building from the outside, spent some time in a Jewish bookstore and gift shop, and walked the streets of the fabric district of Once. For the time we had, we feel it was well spent. They dropped us off at a location where we had to meet someone for lunch. All in all, they did a top notch job, made us feel very comfortable and welcome, and met our expectations. The only regret is that we didn't do more, but that will be for our next visit to Buenos Aires.

We found the tour interesting, educational, and very enjoyable. All of the important sites were visited and very well explained. The walk through the Jewish section allowed us to view the everyday lives of the current residents as well as learn about the Jews that had come beofre them to build this community.

On searching the Internet I found the batours site very easily and very comprehensive offerring an excellent variety of tours in Buenos Aires.
Our guide, Maximo Yedid, was excellent, very knowledgeable and very accommodating to any requests that we had. All arrangements were carried out efficiently, timeously and with good humour. We particularly enjoyed our night at Carlos Gardel Tango Show, followed by a local milonga, where we sampled the real Buenos Aires.
Can highly recommend Maximo, for his experience ,local knowledge of Buenos Aires and good english. If we were to return, then we would have no hesitation in contacting Maximo again.

Maximo was pleasant to deal with and extremely efficient in corresponding with us and organizing this special evening at the Carlos Gardel Theatre.

Recently during a visit to Buenos Aires, we took a Jewish tour of the city with Maximo Yedid. We found him to be articulate and fully informed about the subject and sights. He walked us through the Jewish neighborhood of Once and arranged for us to enter both a Sephardic and Ashkenazi synagogue. In the main synagogue we met with the rabbi and had a tour of the museum there. He described other significant plaques and memorials within the city as he showed them to us. After our 4 hour tour we had a much greater understanding of both the history and the present life of Jewish Argentina.
We would not hesitate to recommend using Maximo as a guide.

Last month we had the very good fortune to have contracted with you for a guided tour of Buenos Aires. While you had informed us at the time of booking that because of your scheduling conflicts we would be working with another guide, we had some initial concerns. Nevertheless, everything you had promised and all we had hoped for was provided. Our guides - one for the Jewish tour and another for the full day city tour - were both knowledgeable, dynamic, and well-spoken. The vans were clean, comfortable and air-conditioned. The transfer to and from the Tango Show at night and the transfer to the airport went seamlessly. Your prices were very reasonable and fair. In summary, we would, without reservation, recommend your services to anyone.
Thank you for making our trip to Buenos Aires such an informative and pleasant experience.

December, 2009 we traveled to Argentina for our first visit to South America and we decided that a private guide would be the perfect addition to our adventure. I found Maximo on the web and we started conversing in English about our plans and what we expected to learn from our day with him. He is very attentive and custom tailored a day outing for us. We told him that we must have some added walking time as we are very active seniors. Well, Maximo was at our door at the appointed time with our driver (very knowledgeable and pleasant company) and off we went to explore this bustling city from many different vantage points! We actually spent 7 hours with him that day and we got an amazing tour of the highlights of this fascinating and beautiful city including the important historical and cultural overview as it applied to each area.
That evening Maximo joined us at a Tango dinner and show and shared more of his knowledge of the tango culture which added an important aside to the history of Buenos Aires.
We highly recommend Maximo as a pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable guide and we truly enjoyed his company for an entire day! He covered every aspect of our requests and more.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to numerous places and I was very much looking forward to visiting Buenos Aires. I didn't know people that have visited Argentina, so aside from the usual guide books my friend bought, I really wanted a more intimate experience from a local's point of view. I decided on getting a tour guide and Maximo most definitely exceeded my expectations. We had a wonderful experience. Maximo took us to places that were wonderful and important to see, but also provided an abundance of information and historical references. I don't think I could have had the appreciation and love for Buenos Aires if I didn't have Maximo's added information and intimate details of every place. We covered so much in just one day. And wow, his suggestion of the Tango dinner and show was top notch!
Maximo, you made our visit so rich and full of enjoyment! I wish there was a Maximo in every new place we go to in the future!

My wife and I were interested in a full day private tour of Buenos Aires and the Tigre Delta area. We found Maximo's web site, and contacted him. His speedy and thorough replies made it easy for us to decide on using his services, and we were very pleased with the service and value we received.
Maximo was waiting for us as we disembarked from our NCL cruise, and as he had the largest placard standing right in the front, we had no trouble finding him. As an added bonus, Max used Jose' (Joe) as his driver. Joe is as fluent in English as Max, and both them were a joy to be with for the full day. Although you could spend a week or more in Buenos Aires, between Max and Joe we saw just about every thing we had hoped to see, and then some.
We highly recommend Max for anyone visiting this outstanding, lively city, filled with beautiful parks and wonderful sites.

If you want tours that are tailor-made, intelligent and not the ordinary, “commercial” type, Maxi is the perfect guide. He’s a well-educated, polite young man, who speaks good English and really knows his subject. He knows the “tango scene” very well and is a wonderful dancer himself. In addition, he is well-organized and punctual.
My cousin, who did not know anything about Buenos Aires and I, who had been to BA several times, took a city tour and a trip to Tigre with Maxi. He offered us a great deal of interesting information, and is a pleasant companion. Both my cousin and I feel the time and money were very well-spent and that we were able to deepen our knowledge of Argentina and its culture.
I first met Maxi in 2004, when he was assisting Carlos Gavito in some tango workshops, where he danced as my partner and also partnered me at a number of milongas. Maxi is a terrific dancer and an interesting person to speak with. I’m sure that any of his tango-related tours will be very worthwhile and pleasurable. I recommend him without reservation.

As a wine expert who travels the world, I recently visited Buenos Aires for the first time. Maximo was hired by the Wines of Argentina to show me the city and he did an amazing job. His in-depth knowledge of the city and its history was complemented by his ability to determine what I sites I wanted to see. I can’t wait to return to spend time with Maximo and learn to tango, too!
