We start our journey heading towards the political center of the city. We arrive to the historical Independence Square. There, we will admire the monument erected to honour General Jose Artigas (independence's hero), the Salvo Palce, the Estévez Palace (the old government house), the Gate of the Citadel and the Teatro Solis (Opera House). We continue our journey through the 18th of July Avenue (main avenue) with its shops and restaurants and will arrive to the Agricultural Market, where we will learn about the "Mate" and will have the chance to taste this traditional Uruguayan infusion. We continue our way throgh the Rambla (Seafront) where you will be dazzled by the 18 kilometers length sandy beaches. We will stop at Punta Gorda viewpoint to have an amazing view of the city and beaches. Our tour goes on in the neighborhoods of Carrasco and Pocitos, which are the most beautiful and elegant residential neighborhoods in Montevideo. We continue our journey towards El Prado park, with its monument to the Charruas (natives), and Tres Cruces neighborhood, where we will see the city's Obelisk. We will stop at Constitution Square to admire the Cabildo (colonial city-hall), and the Metropolitan Cathedral. We continue our tour in the traditional neighborhood Ciudad Vieja (Old Town), with this rich architecture, to finish at the Port Market.
